Reminder: Vaccine Clinics Are Happening!

Flu and Covid shots are being offered starting this week through November 5th at State of Vermont locations across the state. You can register here. All State employees and retirees are now eligible for Covid vaccinations, regardless of underlying health conditions. If insured through the State, your Evernorth/Express Scripts pharmacy insurance plan covers your seasonal immunizations at SOV clinics, participating pharmacies, and your doctor's office. 

This week, we'll be in Colchester, Swanton, and St. Albans. Check out the full schedule!


When preparing for your appointment, be sure to bring your insurance cards - both medical and pharmacy. If you have Medicare, bring your "red, white, and blue" Medicare Card or Medicare ID number. Please come dressed so that we can easily access your full upper arm, such as wearing a sleeveless or short-sleeved shirt. Face coverings are optional but recommended.

Make Your Own Aromatherapy Candles

Aromatherapy scents are great for stress relief and relaxation. If you're looking to save some money, try making these aromatherapy candles at home! Ingredients/Supplies Needed: Beeswax or Soy Wax Essential oils and/or Fragrance (Lavender is a great scent for stress relief and sleep!) Double Boiler or Metal Bowl that you don't mind using for candle wax Wicks and Metal Wick Ends Mason jars or Heat proof jars/glasses Optional : Dye if you prefer your candles to have some color to them! Directions: Melt the wax using your double boiler or boil water and place your metal bowl on top to melt the wax.  Adhere wick to the container while the wax is melting. You can do this by placing a little melted wax on the bottom of the wick end and placing it in the jar.  Add essential oils and fragrance to the melting wax and stir. These kitchen hacks may make all the difference in helping you to have a week of healthy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners! 1) Cook up a big batch of quinoa or rice (or both) to use for meals throughout the week . You can add these to salads for a more filling lunch, scramble up with some eggs for a hearty breakfast, and use them for simple dinners throughout the week. If you want to make a larger batch, both quinoa and rice can be frozen for later use. 2) Prep some overnight oats.  Overnight oats make a great healthy quick meal in the morning.
